Kate & Lili play volleyball for Roncalli in Omaha. I had so much fun shooting with both of them on a sand volleyball court to get some fun summery vibes!
Whether you're a player looking for volleyball sportraits or a team wanting some great group shots, preparing for your volleyball photoshoot makes all the difference. Here are my top tips to ensure you look and feel your best in front of the camera!
1. Wear the Right Gear
Choose a clean, well-fitting uniform that represents your team’s colors. Consider bringing extra options—home & away jerseys, warm up jackets, etc. It's fun to get some variety!
2. Prep Your Volleyball
Don't forget your volleyball & prep it! If you want the ball in your photos, make sure it’s clean and in good condition. A scuffed, deflated ball won’t look great in close-up shots!
3. Hair & Makeup Tips
We do a little mix between posed shots & also a little bit of action, too. You might want to bring some hair ties to style your hair differently for action shots. If you wear makeup, go for a natural, sweat-proof look.
4. Location, Location, Location
Volleyball is super fun because we can either do them inside on your home court if you have a good hook-up to get in the school -OR- we can find a sand volleyball court to take photos on. Also, be prepared to get a little sandy!
5. Consider Other Props
Even a loose net draped over your shoulders looks really cute. Volleyball racks, medals, scoreboards, or even water bottles can all look cute in photos. Multiple volleyballs in photos can also be super cute, too!
6. Bring the Energy!
Volleyball is all about movement, so be ready to dive, spike, and set with confidence. If you’re posing for team shots, have some fun with it—high fives, group huddles, or action stances can bring personality to the photos.
Don't be afraid to reach out with any questions for me or if you have a certain look you're going for. I can’t wait to capture the action!
