I've been wanting to do an outdoor winter maternity session for forever! I was so excited that there was a momma game to brave the cold and I think this snowy session in Omaha, NE turned out absolutely stunning! The red lace dress against the snowy backdrop is so dramatic and gorgeous... I can't EVEN! We were really lucky and had some 30 degree weather... about 5 days before this photo session we had a mega-storm and it was negative 12 degrees out! The bonus with long maternity dresses... you can layer the leggings underneath! You wouldn't know it, but she was actually wearing leggings and running around in boots under there!

Shelby was about 6 months along in these photos. I usually recommend anywhere from 6-8 months along when you get your maternity photos. You want to have a good sized bump, but if you get past 8 months, it's easy to feel exhausted for your shoot and it's best to be able to relax and enjoy yourself the day of your session. I should have bought this dress when I was pregnant with my kids... I could have worn it once a week and felt like a queen!

I'm currently building out my client closet for maternity. Meaning, if you book a session with me you have complimentary access to what maternity dresses I currently have available if you'd like to use one of them. Sometimes it doesn't make sense to invest in a dress if you're just going to use it the one time. Since I work with lots of mommas, it's nice being able to share the cute stuff!
